Australia reiterates support to Timor-Leste in fighting Covid-19

Tempotimor (Dili) - The Australian prime minister Scott Morrison called with Timor-Leste’s prime minister Taur Matan Ruak reiterating Australia’s support and solidarity in fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. 

During the telephone conversation, which lasted 12 minutes last Friday afternoon, both government leaders deepened the relationship between the two countries.

Australia is ready to help Timor-Leste with a few more medical equipment and laboratory specialists. 

Prime minister Taur Matan Ruak expressed his gratefulness to the Australian government and people for their help and solidarity, especially as Australia is also facing a Covid-19 outbreak.

He also apologized to his Australian counterpart for not visiting Australia in April because of the pandemic and promised to reschedule the visit for another occasion.
